Manchester United previously tried to sign Jarrad Branthwaite in the summer but failed to meet Everton’s valuation of him.
Instead, they added Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt to their defensive arsenal, as they were unwilling to part with £70million for Branthwaite.
Now, it has been revealed that United are willing to revisit this chapter and line up another bid for the centre back.

Reignited Interest in Jarrad Branthwaite
Branthwaite has been on the bench and played a combined six minutes in Everton’s previous two games.
United have been alerted to this situation ahead of the January transfer window and may reignite their interest in the defender, according to Mail Sport.
They will face competition from other Premier League clubs who are also monitoring Branthwaite’s availability.
With their struggling financial position, Everton cannot afford to offer Branthwaite a new contract.
His current deal expires in 2027, meaning the Toffees would be in a relatively strong negotiating position over his sale.
The sentiment at the club is that they would prefer to sell him sooner rather than later, if at all, as they do not want to see his transfer value plummet.

Sean Dyche ‘Powerless’
Everton boss Sean Dyche conceded that he would be powerless in the event that Branthwaite wanted to leave and the club received a suitable offer.
‘Bids for players will not be anything to do with me. You know, or can imagine, the financial situation here,’ he said.
‘We have already had to sell players here I didn’t want to. That is just part of the current business of the club.
‘The current decision would be that it is likely if somebody offers enough money for any player – then they go.’

Manchester United’s PSR Issues
Although United would like to strengthen their squad upon Ruben Amorim’s arrival, their issues with Premier League Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules may prove to be an obstacle.
For this reason, a January approach for Jarrad Branthwaite would be a difficult task.
The Red Devils narrowly avoided PSR breaches last summer and do not have much financial leeway.
Amorim may have to work with the squad he inherits until next summer, when he will likely have the chance to cater it to his desires.
