Manchester United are still in desperate need of a left-back, with Erik ten Hag’s natural left-back’s both out injured.
Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw have both been out since the start of the year, with ten Hag having to rely on Diogo Dalit to cover the role.
However with Noussair Mazraoui’s recent injury scare, the Dutchman was reportedly having to look to veteran Jonny Evans as a left-back alternative.
Thankfully Mazraoui is back in training, however Shaw and Malacia are still unavailable for selection.
The club have been linked with resigning their recent departure Alvaro Carreras who has certainly found his form at Benfica. The Spanish left-back departed for Portugal this summer in a deal worth €6 million which included a buy-back clause.

Alongside Carreras, United have also been linked to Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.
However, it’s now another left-back which is being linked with United in their bid to sign a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw.
Manchester United look to Eredivisie star
TEAMtalk have report that United are monitoring David Moller Wolfe’s progress at Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.
Wolfe looks like a great option to fit into ten Hag’s system, with a desire and pace in the attack whilst also delivering a controlled aggression in defence.
The traits have led the 22-year-old to emerge as Norway’s first-choice left back for the national team.
Since joining from Brann in 2023 for €2.5 million, the Norwegian international has made 55 appearances, grabbing a goal and four assists on the way.
United do face competition however, with Chelsea also looking at the young defender.
This wouldn’t be the first star to be signed from the Eredivisie under the tenure of ten Hag, with Antony and Lisandro Martinez joining the club directly from the Dutch league.
Alongside these, the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee also have experience in the Dutch league, amid more ties growing with the Eredivisie.
