Earlier this year, Dan Ashworth left Newcastle to join Manchester United in controversial fashion.
He sent an email to United’s new CEO Omar Berrada, detailing his desire to join the Red Devils as their sporting director.
However, a blind copy of this email was also sent to his Newcastle email address, which alerted the club of his intention to leave.
This began the start of a bitter relationship, leading to a long and drawn-out exit process.

Now, Ashworth is seeking revenge on his former club, Mail Sport reveals.
He is making them wait to officially sign one of United’s senior staff members.
Like he was subjected to when attempting to leave St James’ Park in February, he is placing United’s senior analyst Luke Dickson on gardening leave.
Therefore, he will not be able to move to Newcastle until November.
Dickson will also not receive any pay-off money from United, despite spending five years at the club as a senior academy analyst.
Ashworth was not allowed to join the Red Devils until June, despite agreeing a deal months earlier.
United also had to pay a £3million compensation fee to bring their new sporting director to Old Trafford.

Back in April, it looked like there was no hope of Ashworth completing the move.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe was even prepared to wait over a year for a deal to be settled.
‘It doesn’t make sense for Dan Ashworth to be sat around doing nothing for 18 months,’ he said to the BBC.
However, the matter was eventually resolved, and Ashworth has now had a busy start to life in Manchester.
He was pivotal in the decision to sack Erik ten Hag and is also playing a key role in Ruben Amorim’s expected appointment.
