Manchester United have accelerated their interest in one of their key attacking targets, aiming to sign a new striker in 2025.
The Red Devils currently have two out-and-out strikers in the form of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Zirkzee joined United this summer for £35 million from Bologna, however, has struggled to cement himself in the squad.
Before Ruben Amorim joined United, Zirkzee failed to get any real game time, only making 17 appearances, averaging 41 minutes per game, grabbing a goal and two assists.
However, the Dutch striker showed his potential last weekend, grabbing a brace in United’s 4-0 win over Everton.
Hojlund on the other hand, had a good first season last year, with 16 goals and two assists in 43 matches.
So far in this year’s campaign, the Danish striker is on track for similar results, registering four goals and an assist in 15 matches
Alongside the pair, Marcus Rashford has been used in multiple roles in attack, as an attacking midfielder and as a solo striker.
Rashford is finding his form once more, grabbing seven goals and three assists in 22 games this season.
However, United are looking for another striker to help with the club’s attacking options.

Manchester United scout Victor Osimhen
Sabah has reported that United have sent scouts to Turkey to monitor Galatasaray’s striker Victor Osimhen.
The Nigeria international is currently on loan from Napoli, supporting the Turkish side to hold their spot at the top of the league.
With nine goals and five assists in 12 games, Osimhen has attracted attention from a host of European clubs including Arsenal and PSG.
The report explained that Napoli is likely to agree to a deal worth £58 million to sell their loaned-out star.
Whilst the loan deal has a release clause in January for £62 million, the striker is reportedly happy in Istanbul, wanting to see out the rest of the season in Turkey.
