Manchester United are looking to address their issues in the squad, with a key focus on the left wing.
The club have been without a natural left-back for most of the year with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out injured.
Now, as the pair looked to return, Shaw has yet again suffered an injury, showing that United need a new left-back to be able to rely upon consistently.
Whist Malacia made an appearance against Arsenal, he was left out of the squad for Nottingham Forest, with Amorim relying on Diogo Dalot once more.
The club’s recruitment team are scouring Europe for a potential long-term replacement for Shaw, with the top choice right now being Alphonso Davies.
The Canadian left-back is coming to the end of his contract in the summer, with Davies’ agent open to talks with United to discuss a pre-contract agreement in the winter.
However, United’s scouts have now identified another option that could be a perfect fit for Amorim’s system.
The Red Devils have been monitoring Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu for some time now, with the 20-year-old being a key part of the Italian side.

Despite currently sitting in 16th place, Dorgu has been delivering some impressive performances for Lecce, with his versatility to play on either flank being shown.
TBR Football has reported that United are huge admirers of Dorgu, having sent scouts to watch him over recent weeks.
With Dorgu making a name for himself, being compared to Gareth Bale, Lecce is braced for several offers for their talented youngster.
However, the battle to sign the Denmark international, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham monitoring the star, as well as his current club, Lecce, standing in the way.
Addressing a potential transfer in January, Lecce’s technical director, Panteleo Corvino commented: “Dorgu is a potential champion. Correction; he is [already] a champion.”
He continued: “He runs for three [men] and sees the goal. He has a motor that no one else [can match].”
“A player like that has admirers, of course. And, for him, there are certainly many, even abroad. But Dorgu will stay here and then, in the summer, we’ll talk about it because his destiny is set.
“The future belongs to him.”
