Manchester United have been rather vocal about their interest in Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia is at the centre of a transfer race, with United up against Manchester City and Liverpool.
Arne Slot is looking to the Georgia international as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian yet to be offered a new contract.
However, Manchester City have the funds to meet his £83 million valuation.
Whilst United are looking to offer a £7.5 million wage to Kvaratskhelia to lure him to Old Trafford, making up the funds might be an issue.
The Red Devils are still monitoring the 23-year-old, however, are now looking at another covering another role also.

Manchester United begin interest in Napoli starting star
Manchester United are now starting to look for a potential goalkeeper amid the fear of losing Altay Bayindir.
The Red Devils aren’t looking to sell the star, however they are aware of his ability and position behind Andre Onana.
Bayindir is considered too good to be a second option in goal, with his prospects of appearances for United looking slim.
As such, the club are now looking for not just a third-choice keeper, but a second-choice too.
Their search has now taken them to Napoli, with goalkeeper Alex Meret in mind.
Florian Plettenberg has now reported that Meret is the centre of interest from United and Inter Milan.
The 27-year-old has registered eight clean sheets in 12 appearances this season, helping Napoli to remain at the top of Serie A.
Meret is on track for his best season yet, set to outperform his 2022/23 when he kept 20 clean sheets in 45 games.
Now, with his contract up in the summer, United and Inter are keen to secure the goalkeeper on a free transfer.
