Juventus and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been a subject of interest to Manchester United and was even close to a move to Manchester last summer.

As Daily Mail report, Manchester United are seeking to rekindle their interest in the Frenchman and nab him on a free this summer.

The one year extension Rabiot signed last summer is what stalled the move to Manchester and with the one year over, United are lurking once again.

Reports coming in from Italy, in particular Tuttosport allege that Rabiot is stalling negotiations for a new contract as he waits on Juve’s decision on the manager role.

The report suggests that Rabiot is in good terms with current manager Allegri and he is of the inclination the 5-time Scudetto winner should stay beyond the summer.

The situation of the Juventus coach is a key factor in Rabiot’s future and he wants to make his decision before the Euros later this season as Tuttosport reports.

As such, talks between Juve, him and his mother, who is also is agent are expected to take off anytime soon, particularly after Juve mathematically secure a Champions League spot for next season.

The report concluded by mentioning that Manchester United are particularly interested in how the Rabiot situation in Turin will develop and could soon send an offer to the former PSG midfielder, hoping to secure his signature on a free transfer come the summer.

A new midfielder is definitely on the cards for United this summer and Rabiot on a free transfer makes sense considering the financial fair play regulations.

Rabiot, who has been capped 43 times by France, has in the past expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.

“I have always said that I’d like to play in England in my career,” he said back in December 2022.

“I still have that desire. I’d like to evolve in the Premier League.”
