Ruben Amorim was officially announced as Manchester United manager yesterday.
After tough negotiations with Sporting CP, the terms of his contract were finally agreed.
His deal will run until June 2027 and he will join the Red Devils on November 11, just before the international break.
The 39-year-old will have 13 days to prepare for his first game against Ipswich Town.
Coming with him from Sporting to Old Trafford are four coaches and a sports scientist, as per his request.
However, the Portuguese coach revealed one desire he made clear to United that was not fulfilled by the board.

Ruben Amorim explained that he wanted to join the Reds at the end of the season.
‘The only request I made was for it to be at the end of the season and I was told that it wasn’t possible, that it was now or never,’ Amorim revealed.
‘I had three days to decide on something that completely changes my life.
‘It’s not the first time I’ve had my clause paid by another club, nor the second.
‘I wanted that club and that context,’ he said.

Amorim’s loyalty to Sporting was unwavering, as he did not want to leave them in a poor state after joining United.
He even waited until they had a replacement lined up for him, which is expected to be former player Joao Pereira.
In a detailed explanation for why he left Sporting, Amorim stated that he gave ‘everything’ he had for the club.
He revealed that United’s club structure are just like Sporting, which attracted him to their project.
Amorim only had three days to make a decision which would change his life.
Ultimately, the prospect of managing the biggest club in England was too much to turn down.
Very long explanation on his thinking about the Manchester United move.
