Manchester United are looking forward to the next transfer window, desperate to sign one of their top targets to boost their defence. So far the club are being linked with players like Alvaro Fernandez, Alphonso Davies and David Moller Wolfe to continue rebuilding their back line.
This summer saw United sign Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Leny Yoro in phase one of the club’s rebuild.
Whilst Yoro is yet to make his competitive debut after getting injured on the pre-season tour, de Ligt and Mazraoui have instantly asserted themselves as key members of the starting line-up.
Although these signings made a massive step toward remodelling the defence, United are still without a left-back, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia still ruled out through injury.

Now, United are looking to face off with Real Madrid to sign their primary left-back target.
Manchester United make Alphonso Davies a priority signing
Whilst it’s been reported previously that United are keen to sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich, a new report has shown how much of a priority signing the Canadian is.
Reports from Spanish publication Todofichajes, as reported by TEAMtalk, have announced that United are looking to offer Davies a “blank cheque” to move to Old Trafford instead of the Spanish capital.
Davies is currently in the final year of his contract, meaning that United can negotiate a transfer with him in January to line up a move in the summer when his contract ends.
Whilst it’s understood that Davies is keen to move to Los Blancos, “the feeling from United” is that allowing the 23-year-old to choose his own wage at United would be ambitious enough to lure the star to the Premier League.
Although beating Real Madrid may seem like a tall order, with Davies so keen on moving to Spain, it’s not impossible with the same situation happening with Leny Yoro.
The centre-back had no interest in the Premier League and only wanted Madrid, yet somehow The Red Devils swept in and stole Madrid’s man. This question is, can they do it once more to sign the world-class left-back?
