Manchester United are now looking at tabling a new bid in what is set to be a rerun of last summer’s transfer pursuit.
Last summer, United were determine to sign a new centre-back Raphael Varane left the club at the end of his contract.
In order to fill his shoes, The Red Devils targeted Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
Whilst neither of these pursuits materialised despite multiple offers being tabled, United managed to secure the services of Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro.
The winter transfer window saw the club sign Ayden Heaven as well for further cover in the centre-back role, with the signing paying off given the long-term injury Lisandro Martinez has sustained.
Now, The Red Devils are needing further recruitment to the centre-back role given Jonny Evans’ decision to retire after this campaign and Victor Lindelof being let go at the end of his contract.
As such, Manchester World has reported that United are now looking at making a second attempt at signing one of their previous key targets.

Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo once more
Manchester World reports that United are once again looking to to make a move for summer target Jean-Clair Todibo.
United failed in signing the French defender, seeing him ultimately move to West Ham United on loan, making 21 appearances for The Hammers this season.
Included in the loan deal was an option for the London-based club to sign Todibo for £35 million, with West Ham potential set to pay the fee, to then sell him on to United immediately for £45 million, making £10 million profit.
Depending on West Ham’s decision to trigger the buy clause, United could either be making an offer to Nice or their Premier League opponents, however, The Red Devils are keen to not have a repeat of last summer.
