Manchester United are working hard to return to the top of European and World football with Ruben Amorim now at the helm.
Amorim is striving for the highest standards at United, both on and off the pitch to achieve this goal, even leaving big names out of the squad if others are performing better.
An example of this is Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford being left out of the squad for the Manchester Derby this weekend. Ultimately the decision paid off with United winning 2-1, however, it was a bold move from Amorim.
The new manager explained his decision to leave the pair out by saying: “Not a disciplinary thing. Next game, new life, they are fighting. It’s important the way you train. When we want to change a lot, when people are losing jobs, we have to put standards really high. Today proved we can leave anyone out if you play together.”
As such, it’s clear that he only wants the very best in his squad to restore United’s former glory.
Well, no doubt Amorim will be thrilled that he officially has a FIFPRO Best XI star in his squad.

Manchester United feature in CAF FIFPro Men’s Best XI of 2024
This year the CAF awards were held in Marrakech, Morocco, with the CAF FIFPro Men’s Best XI of 2024 being announced.
United fans didn’t have to wait long to see their club feature in the list, with Andre Onana being the first name announced.
The Cameroon international has already been showered with awards having been integral in United’s FA Cup victory over Manchester City, whilst also winning United’s Player of the Month award in September and two Premier League Save of the Month awards.
However, he wasn’t the only Red Devil to feature, with former Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat also featuring.
Although Amrabat is contracted with Fiorentina, the Moroccan international is currently on loan with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
With two goals and two assists in 16 games, Amrabat has helped the Turkish side to second in the Super Lig and is still fighting to make the knock-out stages of the Europa League.
Despite having left United in the summer, with his loan coming to an end, Amrabat’s role in the FA Cup victory for United will have played a part in his inclusion in the esteemed starting XI.
