Manchester United are desperate to sign new defensive midfielder to partner alongside rising star Kobbie Mainoo.
The Red Devils have been scoring Europe for talent, needing a replacement for waining Casemiro.
The Brazilian veteran has definitely seen better days and so United are looking to part ways with the midfielder.
in their search for a replacement, United have identified PSG’s Manuel Ugarte as their top target for the position. However, Ugarte’s price tag of £59 million appears to steep for the Red Devils.
Now, United are reportedly turning to Inter Milan with a potential player-swap deal on the cards.
United and Inter Milan’s potential player-swap
With funds being tight and the lack of buyers making offers, it’s understandable that United would want to use one of their assets as leverage in a deal.
It’s been reported that Inter have been interested in Aaron Wan-Bissaka for some time now. Wan-Bissaka is in the finals year of his contract now and has recently rejected a move to West Ham United in favour of a move to the Italian Champions. Dan Ashworth has included the right-back in a list of players he wants to offload, with this summer being the last opportunity for the club to cash in on the right-back.
Seems like a good move all round with United now interested in one of Inter’s defensive midfielders.
With Inter refusing to part ways with Denzel Dumfries unless a significant offer is submitted, the Red Devils and now focusing on another star at the San Siro.
Reports from InterLive claim that United are turning their attention to Kristjan Asllani.
Despite limited game-time, Asllani has made the most of the opportunities he’s had, having a 93% pass success rate and a 72% long-ball accuracy rate.
The Albania international has also shown his strength in Serie A by winning 60% of the duels he’s taken on.
Whilst this could be an unexpected signing for United given the limited time on the pitch last season, he could be a hidden gem that alongside Mainoo, could transform the midfield at Old Trafford.
