Manchester United are now looking to Bayer Leverkusen in their search for another striker.
The Red Devils have a limited selection when it comes to their current options up front.
Going into the summer, Rasmus Hojlund was their only striker, with Marcus Rashford pushed out onto the wing under Erik ten Hag.
The summer saw United sign Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, much to ten Hag’s disappointment, with the Dutch striker arriving at Carrington overweight, struggling to get in shape.
United were always going to be looking for another striker before next season, with more depth needed to support Hojlund and Zirkzee in case of injury.
However, Zirkzee is failing to perform and Amorim seems to be opting for Rashford to return to his former role as a striker.
As such, the rumour mill is starting up once more, recently reporting United’s search for a new striker to replace Zirkzee.
It’s known that Juventus are looking to sign Zirkzee next summer, with United needing a replacement. Most recently United have been linked with Matheus Cunha of Wolves who is in great form of late.
The Brazilian striker has made 13 appearances with seven goals and three assists this season, with United having been interested in the star earlier this year.
However, new reports are adding another name to the list.

Manchester United scout Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface
Boniface is contracted to Leverkusen until 2028, however, United are seriously considering the Nigerian international.
With 29 goals and 11 assists in 49 games since arriving in Leverkusen in 2023, Boniface was a key part of their unbeaten, title-winning Bundesliga campaign last season.
Whilst a move for the striker may not be possible in the winter due to the limited budget United will have to work with, the club are expected to sign another striker in the summer at the very latest.
