Manchester United are currently very interested in Crystal Palace this transfer window, with a third star making their way onto United’s shortlist.
Palace had a fantastic end to the season, winning five of their last six games including a 1-0 win over Liverpool, 5-2 over West Ham, 4-0 over United and 5-0 over Aston Villa.
It’s no surprise then that Oliver Glasner’s men are getting a lot of interest this summer.
United have already declared interest in Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton, however now a third name joins the two England Euro 2024 members.
United’s new Palace interest
After known interest in Guehi and Wharton, The Telegraph reports that the Red Devils are now turning to left-back Tyrick Mitchell.
United have already been scouring Europe for left-back options, considering the likes of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. With the extreme crisis United faced last season, having both first and second choice left-backs out injured, Erik ten Hag is keen to avoid this in the coming season.
Whilst there was some speculation that Mitchell was out of contract next summer so could be picked up on a free, this was confirmed to be false, with the 24-year-old still having three years on his contract.
Palace could accept a player-swap deal
Although it’s unlikely that The Eagles will let Mitchell go, the London-based side could benefit from a player-swap deal.
Palace could look to swap for United’s right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka who would fit nicely into Glasner’s plans, with the Red Devils now keen to offload the player this summer.
It’s unsure if contact has been made about the defender’s availability, however Mitchell would certainly fit well into ten Hag’s style of play.
