Manchester United are focusing their recruitment efforts on signing a new left-wing-back for the club in the coming transfer windows.
Whilst most of the squad have adapted to Ruben Amorim’s system, the left flank is the only position still posing a problem.
United have been playing without a natural left-back for some time now, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both out injured. In their absence, right-back Diogo Dalot has been covering, and doing so rather well.
However, with Shaw now making some cameo appearances, it’s looking likely that he’ll be fitting into the defence as the left side of the back three, rather than as a left-wing-back.
With Malacia also returning, however yet to get game time, we’re unsure how he fits into Amorim’s plans.
As such, the club are looking further afield for potential replacements for the pair as a natural fit into the new coach’s system.
Whilst it’s believed that their favoured option is Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, United are getting a shortlist of other options in case Real Madrid beat them to the Canadian’s signature.
Now, reports from Sky Sports have announced that United are looking into another left-back in Germany.

Manchester United look to David Raum
Florian Plettenberg has now reported that The Red Devils are looking to RB Leipzig’s David Raum.
The left-back was reportedly in the running for a move to Old Trafford in the summer, with talks taking place, however nothing materialised.
The 26-year-old is currently suffering from an ankle injury, however, since arriving at Leipzig in 2022 for £21.5 million, Raum has made 65 appearances, with two goals and 11 assists.
Whilst his contract is in place until 2027, United are hoping to lure the German international to the Premier League, with him seen as a perfect fit for Amorim’s system.
