When it comes to injuries at Manchester United, it seems that the majority of the bad luck they’ve had over the years is now starting to subside a little bit.
Under the Erik ten Hag regime, United were regularly missing a lot of players through injury.
So much so, Erik ten Hag would cite it as a reason for the club’s poor performances under his management.
New head coach Ruben Amorim will hope that he fares far better in that regard.
He has already been dealt a blow this week, though.
Luke Shaw confirmed another injury setback that will keep him out for a few weeks more.
The England international was seen by many as a player who would thrive under Amorim.
But he’ll be spending the next few weeks further, at least, on the sidelines.
So it must be music to Ruben Amorim’s ears when he hears a player is back.
The Portuguese coach has now confirmed that he a Manchester United player is back from his own injury spell.
Speaking to the press ahead of United’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest, Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Victor Lindelof is now back in training.
Lindelof has been out with a leg injury and has been unavailable for Amorim to select since he joined the club.
“Victor [Lindelof] returned to training but not available”, Amorim confirmed.
“Maybe the next game”.
It wasn’t all good news as Rube Amorim also provided an update on another defensive absentee.
“Jonny [Evans] is still not training”.
So it seems that the defence has been reinforced by one defender, with two still outstanding.
United travel to the Czech Republic to face Viktoria Plzen on Thursday evening and it seems that Victor Lindelof will be available for that squad.
With Ruben Amorim formation preference, having more defenders is always going to be great as it will provide more options to the team.
Having Lindelof back in the fray means that there’s one less defensive absence for Amorim to have to worry about.
