With the transfer market in full swing now, United are looking to strengthen their squad across the board following last season’s performance.

The rejuvenation of the squad which is sure to come this summer is in an attempt to avoid any injury woes to make sure there’s depth in the squad and not get caught short again, but also to fight for a higher league finish to ensure higher level European football.

Already a series of defenders have been linked to Old Trafford with Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Clair Todibo being the main names as targets to fix the issues in the United defence.

Moving up the pitch we know that an initial bid for Joao Neves was submitted and rejected by Benfica, leading to a second offer being devised for the Portuguese wonderkid.

However little has come to light around any attacking options coming to Old Trafford, other than a link to French winger Michael Olise and Wolves striker Matheus Cunha.

Now it seems that the Red Devils are beating other Premier League teams off the mark to enquire about a hot prospect in Germany.

The German publication Sportbild have announced that United, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Brentford are all interested in the same Hoffenheim striker, although the Red Devils are the first to approach the club for information on the 21-year-old.

Maximilian Beier has had a truly incredible season for Hoffenheim, having made 35 appearances across all competitions, grabbing 16 goals and 3 assists, helping the Bundesliga club to achieve a seventh place finish overall.

Beier’s versatility has been used by the squad, with the German international playing on the left wing and in attacking midfield when needed instead of his preferred centre forward position.

The Hoffenheim academy graduate is reported to have a release clause of €32.5 million, and with the striker being called up to Germany’s national squad to compete in this summer’s European Championships, the 21-year-old will no doubt be looking to use the stage to show his worth to the many top teams interested in his services.
