Despite an eventful transfer window this summer, Manchester United are still trying to strengthen their squad, now turning to LaLiga for reinforcements.
The Red Devils are having a rocky season so far, sitting in 21st in the Europa League and 12th in the Premier League.
Despite a win over Brentford, Erik ten Hag’s men only managed a draw against former manager Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
The draw has brought about United’s worst European record in 41 years with only one win in eleven games and a winless streak of six games.
The United bosses are trying to rectify the current position, and despite not sacking the Dutchman during October’s international break, have been working behind the scenes to line up his replacement. Recent reports have claimed that Omar Berrada to a four-man party to Barcelona to meet with Xavi last week to discuss the job.

However, Xavi isn’t the only Barcelona man that United are after, with The Red Devils trying to make changes on the pitch as well.
Manchester United’s pursuit of LaLiga star, Raphinha
It was previously reported that Xavi said he would only take on the role if the Premier League side signed Barcelona’s man in form, Raphinha.
Now, United are clearly trying to meet Xavi’s demands, with the Red Devils offering £67 million (€80 million) to the LaLiga side for their talented winger.
This is a massive £25 million (€30 million) more than United, Chelsea and Arsenal all offered the Spanish club in the summer, but right now, he’s arguably worth the increase.
Raphinha is delivering a string of incredible performances lately, with nine goals and eight assists in 13 games. The Catalan side’s captain is truly showing his capabilities and versatility by being used on the wing, attacking midfield and as a striker when needed.
The Brazilian’s contributions have been vital to securing Barca’s place at the top of the LaLiga table with an impressive 33 goals, 12 more than the next highest, Real Madrid.
However, Barcelona have made it clear now that Raphinha is not for sale despite United’s increased offer.
It’s unknown if United will look to boost their offer even further, however, it’s expected that we’ll see more changes to the squad in the upcoming January transfer window.
