Manchester United are making a hard push to sign youth talent this summer as investments for the club’s future.
With a number of young target’s on the Red Devils’ shortlist and several signings to the youth academy in the form of Silva Mexes, James Overy and Camron Mpofu, the future of United certainly looks bright.
Now the Red Devils have discovered another young star to get excited about in the form of Rosenborg’s Sverre Halseth Nypan.
The 17-year-old is already being billed as the next Martin Odegaard, which is massive praise considering the buzz that surrounded the player in his youth.
Reports from Blick’s sports reported Christopher Michel claim that United are looking to sign the young prospect to then send him out on loan to build up experience before joining the first team squad.
Whilst flattered by the praise, Nypan has been quoted as saying: “It would obviously be a dream come true to play for Manchester United. I’m aware United has shown some interest. But I’m quite adamant that I don’t want to open that door yet. I want to focus on Rosenborg, and not think too far ahead.”
The Norwegian star has come through the Rosenborg youth academy having moved to it from Nardo FK, and has become a vital part of the first squad, with seven goals and eight assists in 44 games.
The midfielder has shown his versatility for the Norwegian team by playing across centre-midfield, attacking-midfield and centre-forward.
