There’s no doubts that Peter Schmeichel is a true legend of the game, especially at United.

The Danish goalkeeper spent eight years at Old Trafford, in which time he made 252 appearances for the Red Devils, with 112 of them being clean sheets, giving him a ridiculously good clean sheet percentage of 44%.

Naturally, being such an impressive shot stopper, he was a key part to a lot of Sir Alex Ferguson’s victories, helping the team secure five Premier League titles, three FA Cup titles, an English League cup title, two English Super Cup titles, one UEFA Supercup title and a Champions League title.

With such a fantastic club run, it’s no surprise that Schmeichel was also a key part of the Danish national squad, making 121 international appearances, even getting an international goal scoring a penalty against Belgium in a friendly match in 2000.

It’s clear that the United legend knows a thing or two about football, and one man that he’s advised should be on United’s radar is now being scouted by the Red Devils.

The man at the centre of Schmeichel’s advice, West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus.

The 23-year-old arrived in London last summer for €43 million after three years at Dutch club, Ajax.

In this time, the Ghanaian midfielder racked up 87 appearances across all competitions, scoring 27 goals with 12 assists, helping the team to back to back Eredivise wins in 2020/21 and 2021/22, along with a Dutch Cup title in 2020/21.

With 26 international appearances also under his belt with 13 goals, it’s clear to see why Schmeichel rates the young player so highly.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Schmeichel said: “There really is something about him, you know.”

He continued: “Right side, left side, coming down the middle, half the price of Anthony. I still don’t get that. If you know that your player so well, why are you picking Antony over him?”

These comments came after United lost 2-0 to West Ham this season, with Kudus scoring against the Red Devils.

The Mirror reports that United are now scouting Kudus. Although his current price tag is unknown, it’s rumoured that he has an £85 million release clause on his contract.
