Manchester United have done an incredible job of securing some truly impressive youngsters this summer, with a number being given the label “wonderkid”.
The Red Devils have managed to sign Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal, with the two clubs just agreeing on a compensation fee before the striker moves to Old Trafford.
Elsewhere Sekou Kone has been signed from Guidars FC in Mali, with the defensive midfielder having shone at last year’s Under-17s World Cup in Indonesia.
Samuel Lusale has also been signed from Crystal Palace, with the impressive winger waiting for the Premier League to sign off the move.
However, the most impressive young signing of the summer has to be Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille.
United managed to swoop in and lure the French defender from front runners Real Madrid, despite Yoro’s desire to move the Spanish capital.
This signing was a massive statement move, with the centre-back deemed a “generational talent”. However, United may need to beat Real Madrid once more with another one of their young targets.
The Red Devils are now looking at Franco Mastantuono from River Plate. The right-winger only joined the Plate side earlier this year from the academy but is already making massive waves.
With three goals and two assists already to his name at River Plate, Mastantuono has been likened to Barcelona wonderkid Yamine Lamal.
Despite the LaLiga champions being interested, a move to Madrid would be a big gamble for Mastantuono with Rodrygo Goes, Ernesto Valverde and fellow youngster Arda Guler all fighting for the same role in the team.
However, speaking now to Argentinian outlet Ole, Mastantuono commented about the transfer rumours, saying: “Today, I am 100 per cent here at River.”
He continued: “We have something very important ahead of us like the Cup and next year there is the Club World Cup, which is also a dream for me. I don’t think about (the rumours),
“(But) I like watching a lot of European football. Especially the Premier League, which is very entertaining.”
Whilst he has a £38 million release clause, Diario Sport, believe that a deal could be done for around £17 million.
