Manchester United’s new ownership went all in during Erik ten Hag’s last transfer window.
The club spent £180million on five new arrivals just months before relieving the Dutchman of his duties.
In September, CEO Omar Berrada publicly expressed his support for Ten Hag, only to play a major role in his sacking a month later.
United legend Teddy Sheringham recently slammed the club’s approach to their summer business, arguing that INEOS wasted money on players that are not good enough to wear the badge.

He argued that Ten Hag was evidently not the man to take United forward and that the board should not have backed him so strongly.
‘It’s good in the fact that the United directors backed their man and gave him money to make signings, but it was so evident from the outside that Ten Hag wasn’t up to the job,’ Teddy Sheringham told Best Offshore Sportsbooks.
‘It was like, “What are you doing? Why are you giving this man more money to spend?”
‘He’s already wasted a lot of money on players. He’s bought a lot of players that are like, “Oh, that’s a few quid. Yeah, I’ll go and play for Man United. That’ll do.”‘

Sheringham went on to criticise the calibre of players that were signed, implying that they were attracted to United due to financial motives rather than passion.
‘There’s a big difference between wearing the shirt with pride and just nicking a few quid because someone’s paid out a lot of money for you.
‘We’ve had too many players turning up at United thinking: “That’s that. I’ve made it.”
‘That’s not good enough for the standards of Manchester United.’
