Manchester United are extremely keen to be mixing things up in midfield this summer.

Older players like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are expected to be leaving Old Trafford this summer, with Casemiro gaining a lot of interest from Saudi clubs and Eriksen entering the final year of his contract.

Elsewhere, players who have recently been on loan like Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho are also linked with moves away from the Premier League this transfer window with both Englishmen being linked to Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

United’s new transfer policy implemented by Sir Jim Ratcliffe is to focus on younger players who have heaps of potential to bring to the squad and carry the team to long-term success.

With this new strategy, we’ve already seen the Red Devils make an offer for Benfica’s Joao Neves, with the €60 million initial offer being rejected by the Portuguese club. It’s understood that United are currently regrouping and working on a second offer to try and sign the Portuguese wonderkid, with Ratcliffe identifying the 19-year-old as a vital asset to United going forward.

A number of other young future stars have been linked to the club, such as Stade Rennais’ Desire Doue, AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana, Crystal Palace’ Eberechi Eze and OGC Nice’s Khephren Thuram to name a few.

Now, attention is turning to Watford, with a number of top European clubs being interested in their star midfielder Yaser Asprilla.

The Columbian-born midfielder has had an amazing season in the Championship, with 44 appearances, six goals and seven assists across the league, making him a real talent in the squad.

One notable trait that’s making teams take note is the 20-year-old’s versatility, with Watford having played him on both wings, sitting back a little further in right and left midfield, bringing him into the centre of midfield as well as a couple of games up front. THis ability to fill in anywhere on the pitch makes him an incredible asset to bring depth to a squad.

In reports from Sports Mole, United are the latest team to be interested in the midfielder, joining European clubs like Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Bologna, Real Sociedad, Real Betis and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Despite the Columbian international having not played in any of Europe’s top leagues as of yet, the Hornets have placed a price tag of £30 million on the rising star, clearly being aware of the calibre of player they have on their books.

With Asprilla going into the final year of his contract, it’s expected that Watford would rather make a sale this summer rather than lose him on a free transfer at the end of his contract next summer.
