Manchester United have scored the second fewest goals in the Premier League this season with five.
Only 19th-placed Southampton have netted less with four.
Summer signing Joshua Zirkzee has only scored one goal since arriving – the winner on the opening day against Fulham.
Rasmus Hojlund has also only bagged once and has been struggling with injuries this season.
With this, United are looking to add depth to their attacking forces next summer and are eyeing a Bundesliga superstar.

Mail Sport has revealed that United are interested in Red Bull Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
The 21-year-old was approached by Arsenal in the summer but decided to remain in Germany.
He is expected to leave Leipzig next summer but wants to continue to play Champions League football.
As it stands, United would not be satisfactory suitors for the Slovenian, as they sit 14th in the Premier League, six points off the top four.
Sesko has scored six goals and contributed three assists in nine apperances for Leipzig this season.
He is also the second top scorer in the Champions League group stage with three goals.

Last season, Sesko scored 14 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances, helping Leipzig to a fourth-place finish.
He is valued at €50million by Transfermarkt, after joining Leipzig from sister team RB Salzburg for €24m last season.
Benjamin Sesko would be the fourth striker in United’s senior squad, including Zirkzee, Hojlund and Under-21 star Ethan Wheatley.
Earning €108k per week in Germany, United would not have to break the bank to financially entice him to come to Old Trafford.
If United’s academy graduates do not take the step up, Dan Ashworth may look to Sesko to solve their goal scoring issues.
