Manchester United identify replacement for key player

Manchester United’s season is coming to an end. With one final Premier League game (against Brighton) and an FA Cup Final at the end of May, Erik Ten Hag will be looking to continue the rebuild at the club.

Finishing 3rd last season, qualifying for the Champions League, and winning the Carabao Cup was a major accomplishment for the manager. But they have not been able to replicate that form.

Poor performances and injuries to key players have played a big part. With injuries to Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Maguire, and many more, it has halted the progress from the previous campaign.

The club will most likely putting players up for sale, as well as bringing in new players. One position that will need new additions is defense, after it was announced on the Manchester United website that Varane would be leaving.

With Varane’s departure imminent, the club must now look for a replacement. One such player that could be of interest to INEOS and Erik Ten Hag is 20 year old, Antonio Silva, who currently plays at Benfica. According to Portuguese outlet, Correio da Manha, that could soon change.

The Benfica defender could be exactly what the club is looking for, especially with his ball-playing ability. He could suite the style of play that the Dutch manager is trying to implement.
