Manchester United are looking at completely remodelling their squad over the next two transfer windows.
The previous plan was to harness the potential of the current squad.
However, with United needing to generate significant funds to avoid financial pressures, the club have the majority of the squad up for sale.
Already Marcus Rashford has been highlighted as a key sale to make. The academy graduate constitutes as pure profit under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) meaning it would support even further against financial pressures.
With a wage of £325,000 per week, and a transfer value of £40 million, Rashford alone would generate significant funds and space in the wage budget for new signings.
Now, United have identified one of their top targets for the coming January transfer window, once they’ve generated the funds.

Manchester United look to Sporting Lisbon in January
Pedro Almeida has reported that United have identified Pedro Gonçalves of Sporting Lisbon as a main target for the January transfer window.
Interestingly Amorim has asked the United board to sign Goncalves with an offer of between €40 million and €50 million in internal discussions.
This comes as a slight surprise as in one of his last press conferences in charge of Sporting, Amorim swore against a January raid for and Sporting stars.
Previously United have been linked with Viktor Gyokeres, Geovany Quenda and Ousmane Diomande, however all for moves in the summer.
