This summer sees the first transfer window of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s reign at Old Trafford and the club are going through a mass overhaul, with a number of big names set to leave the club after a shortlist of six ‘untouchable’ players released as closed off to any offers.

According to the club, Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are all off limits, meaing that if the right offer comes in for the rest of the squad, United would be open to sell.

With the club open to offloading a number of players and Erik ten Hag now secure in his role as manager going forwards, sights can be set on the prospected players set to replace the outgoing team and become the new Red Devils.

So far United have submitted a number of bids that have been rejected by their target’s respected clubs.

Initially a €60 million bid was submitted to Benfica for the 19-year-old wonderkid Joao Neves, however the Portuguese club’s president Rui Costa rejected this, holding firm for offers in excess of €100 million. Despite this rejection, United are reportedly revising their offer to submit a second offer to secure the Portuguese star.

Elsewhere, whilst personal terms have been agreed with Jarrad Branthwaite, with a weekly fee of between £150,000 and £160,000, an initial bid of £35 million has been rejected by the Toffees. Talks are still ongoing to bring the star centre-back to Old Trafford, however it’s reported that Everton are holding out for a value of around £70 million.

It’s also recently been reported that United have submitted a bid to Barcelona for their exciting prospect, Vitor Roque. United have made an initial bid of £29.6 million for the Brazilian striker, however the Spanish club are holding out for a fee to match their cost of their fee to Athletico Paranaense for the 19-year-old, with a price tag of £50.6 million.

However, it’s now being reported by Spanish publication SPORT that the Red Devils have submitted another bid to Barcelona for their central midfielder, Fermin Lopez.

The 21-year-old has had a great season breaking into the first team on a number of occasions, with 31 appearances in La Liga, with 14 of them starting the match and the remaining 17 coming off the bench.

United’s offer of €30 million has been rejected, with Barcelona having no intention of letting their homegrown talent go, seeing the young star as a key factor to the future success of the Spanish club.

Lopez’s 11 goals in 42 games across all competitions, it’s clear to see the potential that the star has, meaning that United would have to submit a truly astronomical offer to overturn the club’s ‘non-transferable’ status placed on the player.
