Angel Gomes recently revealed that he would love to return to Manchester United.
In an interview, he explained that he would struggle to turn down an opportunity to return to his ‘home’.
He said: ‘I would love to come back. But you never know in football.
‘There’ll always be that sentimental soft spot, so of course it’d be difficult to say no.’
Now, new information has emerged which could make this possibility even more likely.

L’Equipe report that there are no signs of him potentially renewing his contract with OGC Nice.
Whether Nice do not want to negotiate a new deal or Gomes has no interest in extending is unknown.
However, after being called up to the England squad twice as many months this season, the 24-year-old will surely be eyeing a move to an elite club.
He has started six out of Nice’s seven Ligue 1 games this season, creating 10 chances for them so far.
Despite his excellent form in France, former United legend Nicky Butt advised against Gomes returning to United.

He explained that the midfielder has the ability to do so, but that his game is more suited to football in other top leagues.
‘The Spanish league is written all over for Angel. He could play in the Premier League easily. He could play for City tomorrow,’ he said.
‘But then you put him in at Man United at the minute and he’s got to have the legs to go through the centre of midfield where there’s a massive gap.
‘People run through the Man United midfield like you wouldn’t believe. Then it’s a really difficult game for him,’ Butt explained.
Gomes left the Red Devils in 2020, after a lack of game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
After developing into a fine attacking midfielder, United may have an opportunity to resign him for free next summer.
