Manchester United has been linked with so many top players over the past couple of months with the looming rebuild under INEOS.
Manager ten Hag even laughed off the sheer number of players that are linked with the club every year in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“It’s a joke. As long as I’ve worked, every summer, every window, 200 players getting interest from Manchester United,” Erik laughed it off.
One of these linked players with United was Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin as football365 reported.
This was earlier in the season last albeit Andre Onana has steadied the ship after a rocky start to his United career.
As football365 earlier today cited, Spanish publication Nacional insist that United ‘already have a closed agreement’ with the Ukraine international who is allegedly a top target.
Lunin started the season as more of a secondary option but has since made that number 1 his own after starting keeper Thibaut Courtois tore his left ACL just before the start of the new season.
His upturn in form and fine performances especially in the Champions League have birthed numerous reports of a contract extension being in the works but Nacional insist Madrid president Florentino Perez has not been making any headway in that regard.
The report adds that if Real Madrid are unable reach an agreement for him to sign a new contract, they will be forced to sell him this summer, if they do not want to see him leave for free next year.
The report states that United are now in prime position to secure the Ukrainian’s signature even alleging manager ten Hag has guaranteed him untouchable status to sway his decision.
