Manchester United are looking to the January transfer window as a way of supporting the current squad and finalising Ruben Amorim’s lineup going forward.
Whilst most positions appear to be covered, with most of the central roles taking shape, the wings are still needing some focus.
Amad Diallo is commanding the right-wing-back role, taking on the more defensive position, and showing his potential while at it.
However, the left-wing back role needs some work. Luke Shaw is once again injured, with Tyrell Malacia only recently returning to the pitch.
With this in mind, the left-wing-back role is the priority this coming transfer season, with Alphonso Davies appearing to be the favoured option.
However, that doesn’t mean that United are being blinkered to focus their recruitment on this one position.
United are keen to keep their eyes and ears open so as to not miss any opportunities for signing top talent. Now, an opportunity appears to have arisen to sign a talented attacker from Serie A.
Despite having a host of attacking talent including Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford, United have now found another potential option.
Looking to Italy, United are now monitoring Juventus star Kenan Yildiz.
Manchester United faces competition for Kenan Yildiz.
The 19-year-old is a product of both the Bayern Munich and Juventus youth academies, being promoted to the senior team in 2023. This season has been Yildiz’s breakthrough campaign, with the midfielder currently on four goals and three assists in 19 matches.
Whilst Yildiz is commonly known as a left-winger, the versatile star has also regularly been used as a striker, attacking midfielder, and on the right wing.
This versatility could come in very handy at Old Trafford, fitting into the front three, or as a left-wing-back.
However, Florian Plettenberg has reported that if United want to sign the star, they’ll now be facing competition from PSG, Liverpool and Arsenal.
For now, though, Yildiz seems content at Juve, making a January move seemingly unlikely.
