Manchester United are once more playing around with the ticket prices ahead of next year’s Premier League season.
Already this year the club, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, removed concession from their tickets, leading to all tickets costing £66 irrelevant of age.
More recently it was announced that United are increasing their season ticket cost by 5% for a third year in a row.
Admittedly, this is much better than their initial proposal which would have seen an increase of 20%, however this was reduced to 5% after consulting with fans associations.
Another set of reports commented that United would be starting a tiered match tickets system, with the cost of the ticket depending on the opposition.
Now, reports from The Daily Mail have announced how this will work.
The 2025/26 campaign will see home games split across four categories, A, B, C and D, with the price for attending the game increasing for the biggest clubs.
It’s been announced that a full list of games for each price bracket will be released when next season’s fixtures are released in June.
It’s expected that newly promoted clubs will fall into the “D” category, whilst local rivals like Manchester City and Liverpool will be in the top, “A”, bracket.
However, one curveball to the system could be with current Championship leaders, Leeds United. As Manchester United and Leeds enjoy a long-standing and fierce rivalry, this fixture could find itself in a higher tier.
