Manchester United are once more experiencing a plague of injuries, as news has emerged regarding the extent of Lisandro Martinez’s ACL tear.
Unfortunately for the club this means the Argentine will likely be out of action for the rest of the year, let alone season.
Now, Martinez joins a host of other Red Devils in the treatment room as Amorim’s pool of available players lessens week by week.
Luke Shaw has suffered yet another setback in his recovery, and whilst he’s expected in team training again next week, with his consistent run of injuries, it’s not guaranteed until he steps foot on the grass.
Another fellow injury-prone star is Mason Mount who is still in recovery, with Jonny Evans also joining the group.
Prior to United’s 2-1 win over Leicester, Amorim also confirmed that Altay Bayindir is also temporarily side-lined, commenting: “Altay [Bayindir], I think, he has a problem. So he is not available for the game.”
He also continued to say that Tom Heaton would not be playing, however, it wasn’t confirmed if this was due to injury or not.
Now, United have received a boost, with two of their stars returning from injury.
Unfortunately, though this won’t affect the senior squad, with the returning stars being reported by Academy Arena as Shea Lacey and James Overy who are both set to be featuring for the Under-18s squad today.
This is James Overy’s first call-up since joining the Red Devils in the summer, with a lot of excitement around the signing of the ex-Perth Glory defender.
