The Manchester United squad are adjusting to the new formation under Ruben Amorim with several stars adapting to new roles to find where they fit in, especially in defence.
Centre-backs like Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez and Leny Yoro all fit perfectly into Amorim’s back three.
However, the full-backs are facing some adjustments.
Diogo Dalot has been covering the left-back role for most of the year due to injuries with Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw. Under Amorim, Dalot has been remaining on the left, fitting into the left-wing-back role.
However, Malacia was back on the pitch tonight against Arsenal, fitting into the left-wing-back role, allowing Dalot to move back onto the right.
Luke Shaw has once more sustained an injury, however during some brief cameos last week, the left-back was playing on the left side of the three centre-backs. Noussair Mazraoui has joined Shaw in converting to more of a centre-back role, delivering some strong performances in the position.
However, one star we’re yet to see how he fits in is Harry Amass.

Manchester United to decide on Harry Amass’ future
During the pre-season, hype was building around the 17-year-old who looked set to breakthrough into the squad this year.
However, with the change of management of formation, it’s not known how that would work out.
Since Amorim joined the club, Amass has been training once more with the academy rather than the first-team squad, raising questions about his continued development going forward.
It’s understood by The Daily Mail that the academy is now considering offering the star out on loan in January to get game time.
The report explains that Amass has a range of suitors from the Premier League and Championship who are interested in United do decide to offer him out.
However, no decisions have been made on the left-back’s immediate future just yet.
