AC Milan are now looking to bolster their defence ahead of next season’s Serie A and Champions League campaigns.
Having missed out on the Serie A title this year, with rivals Inter having won the league by 19 points, AC Milan are scouting a number of positions across Europe to strengthen their squad.
Most notably recently the Italian club were battling with Manchester United of Bologna’s striker Joshua Zirkzee, ultimately loosing out to the Red Devils with Zirkzee moving to Old Trafford on a five year contract.
Now it appears that Milan are looking to focus on their defences, turning to United’s second-choice right-back as a key target.
Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport has recently reported that Aaron Wan-Bissaka is subject to interest from the Italian club.
This news comes right on the back of West Ham United enquiring about the 26-year-old’s availability for a transfer.
With Wan-Bissaka is now in the final year of his contract, it’s expected that United are looking to offload the right-back in order to avoid losing the Englishman on a free next year at the end of his contract.
It seems that Diogo Dalot is firmly first-choice right-back in Erik ten Hag’s plans, meaning that a move away from United could be a positive step for Wan-Bissaka who was primarily used last season as a back up left-back to cover the injury woes of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
The 26-year-old is beginning to register a lot of interest from European clubs already this summer, now with West Ham and Milan joining already interested parties Galatasaray and Inter Milan.
