Manchester United have been informed that one of Sporting CP’s best players will not follow Ruben Amorim to Old Trafford in January.
The Portuguese coach has been tipped to snatch some players with him from Sporting after he joins United on Monday, including Viktor Gyokeres.
However, in this case, he may struggle to do so, as Sporting want to keep Geovany Quenda at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.

GIVEMESPORT report that United ‘have no chance of getting their hands on Quenda in the coming months’.
The 17-year-old has broken into the starting XI as a right winger and Sporting have no intention to get rid of him soon.
United reportedly want to move Antony on in January, after a disappointing two and a half years in Manchester.
However, with Quenda set to stay in Lisbon, they may struggle to find an exciting replacement on the right flank.
Sporting are in a strong negotiating position, with Quenda’s current deal expiring in 2027.
There is also a hefty release clause in the Portuguese’s contract – clubs will have to pay around £84million to activate his sell option.

Despite this, his estimated transfer value is only £12m, according to Transfermarkt.
But with his exponential progression, this will likely skyrocket if he continues on the same performance trajectory this season.
Geovany Quenda holds Amorim in high regard, as the manager handed him his professional debut in August.
However, for now, it looks unlikely that he will follow in his steps and join United.
