Manchester United could be without five stars for their Boxing Day fixture with Wolves, with the uncertainty around Marcus Rashford ongoing.
Rashford has missed the last three Manchester United fixtures despite being fit enough to play.
After his absence from the squad for the Manchester Derby, the England international commented in an interview: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps” adding fuel to the fire that was already brewing about the star leaving Old Trafford.
Since then, Amorim has failed to select him even on the bench, commenting: “Yeah, it’s my decision. He [Rashford] wants to play, he’s trying.”
He continued: “That’s my decision. Only my decision. I spoke with a lot of players individually, during training, so I try to do things and I am doing things my way and is the only way I know. If I don’t do that, I will lose myself, and I will not lose myself, I know what I am doing.
“When I feel that is the right moment, I will change something. Until then, I will continue to think what is best for the team. I speak with him every day, not about the interview, about the performance.”
As such, it’s unclear whether Rashford will be making an appearance against Wolves of is it will be his fourth game left out of the squad.
However, three stars who are definitely set to miss the game are Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Victor Lindelof as the trio once more find themselves on the injury list.
Unfortunately for Amorim, Matthijs de Ligt could also be joining the four to make it five with the centre-back missing the Spurs and Bournemouth games due to illness.
