Barcelona’s young attacker Victor Roque is on today’s cover of Mundo Deportivo with Manchester United named as an interested party.
The young striker arrived at the Camp Nou in January but has been restricted to just 310 minutes of action from 13 games with Xavi preferring the much more seasoned Robert Lewandowski.
The report claims that the La Liga side are considering sending the 19-year-old out on loan in the summer, if they can’t register him for next season due to the fair play restrictions.
Barca are currently treading on thin ice with regard to FFP rules as they struggle to recover from the economic mess from the days of former president Josep Bartomeu.
Napoli, OGC Nice and Lyon are the other parties Mundo names as interested in the young Brazilian.
Mundo goes on to allege that these clubs have contacted the Brazilian’s agent to find out his situation. The four teams have now joined Real Betis and Sevilla in the transfer chase for the young tiger.
According to the report, Roque on his side is not interested in leaving the Catalan side so it would take some convincing from all interested parties.
He is mainly a striker, but is versatile enough to play in almost every attacking position. His player profile allows him to also play as a second striker, playmaker, or winger, which is his main secondary position.
He possesses a host of technical quality and impressive physicality for a 5’9″ striker, something that has been likened to Man City legend Kun Aguero.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the teenager in the summer especially with Barcelona struggling to balance their books.
