Today marked Manchester United’s third game in the Europa League, taking on Fenerbahce who’s led by former United boss Jose Mourinho.
United entered the game on the back of two Europa League draws against FC Twente and Porto, whilst Fenerbahce beat Union SG in their first game and then also drew to FC Twente.
The Red Devils started strong, with Christian Eriksen opening the scoring in the 15th minute with an assist from Joshua Zirkzee.
However, just after half-time, Mourinho’s men drew equal with Allan Saint-Maximin setting up Youssef En Nesyri for his first goal of the tournament.
Unfortunately, United have been hit with what looks like another serious injury in the dying moments of the game, with winger Antony being stretchered off the pitch.
The Brazilian was taken off in 89th minute, replaced by Amad Diallo after coming on only 16 minutes earlier for Marcus Rashford.
After the game, Erik ten Hag spoke to MUTV about Antony, saying: “It’s really unlucky for him.”
He continued: “I feel real compassion for him, when he worked so hard in training.
“His training performances are that good that he deserved to come on. When you have to come off so quickly, that is really sad to see.
”Hopefully, it’s not too bad, we have to wait 24 hours for what the assessment is.”
Now leaving the game, Antony has been seen exiting the stadium on crutches with a moon boot, as seen below.
This is a breaking story with more to follow.
