In a bid to transform the club for years to come, Manchester United are targeting some of the best young talents in the world of football.
Whilst United are making some massive signings to the youth academy, with the likes of Chido Obi-Martin, some young stars are aiming to fit right into the senior squad.
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo broke into the first team last year, earning them Golden Boy nominations.
Then in the summer, United signed “generational talent” Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille for £51 million. Whilst Yoro only made his debut against Arsenal due to an injury in the pre-season, the centre-back is set to have a key role in Amorim’s future plans.
However, United are still looking further afield for other young stars, despite their limited transfer budget.
Whilst The Red Devils have been scouting players like Rosenborg’s Sverre Halseth Nypan and Sunderland’s Chris Rigg for some time, it’s another young start who United are now renewing their interest in.
Over the summer, United were looking at options across the pitch, with the recruitment team identifying Southampton’s Tyler Dibling as a potential target.

Manchester United target Southampton’s Tyler Dibling
At the time, Southampton boss Russel Martin was very firm that he was not letting the 18-year-old go.
Speaking at the end of September, Martin commented: “He’s ours. The club has turned down bids for him since I’ve been here, so he’s not a secret to people who have been watching under-21s football.”
However, this hasn’t warned off the masses, with Caught Offside reporting that United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham all scouting the youngster this season.
With a goal and two assists in 16 games this season, Dibling has been a key member of Southampton’s squad, however hasn’t been able to get them out of the relegation zone, with the cub sat at the bottom of the table.
As such, Southampton may be forced to part with their star if they are relegated at the end of the season, especially as Dibling has had a taste of Premier League football.
However, with Dibling contracted until 2027, the Saints are under no pressure to sell, setting an asking price of £21 million.
