Manchester United are actively trying to offload three players in order to generate the funds to get several deals across the line.

The Red Devils have recently released a list of seven players they are listing for transfer this summer. However of this list, two individuals plus a former priority sale are being actively worked on to confirm their sales.

As the major two signings this summer, Joshua Zirzkee and Leny Yoro have joined Old Trafford for a collective £78.5 million. However, Mason Greenwood‘s move to Marseille, Willy Kambwala’s transfer to Villarreal and Donny van de Beek joining Girona have only generated a combined £36.8 million. With a net spend now of £41.7 million and an original transfer budget of only £50 million, the club are in desperate need of making sales before anyone new comes in.

This need to offload players can explain the stalling of deals for PSG’s Manuel Ugarte and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, however United need to act soon before they miss out on their men.

TEAMtalk have reported that the active attempts to sell the three Red Devils are a direct move to get funds quickly to complete on deals for de Ligt and Ugarte.

The three stars United are actively trying to sell

United have been very steady on their desire to sell Harry Maguire this summer with the former captain featuring on both of United’s “priority” sale lists.

Maguire has regularly found himself on the bench or injured in recent seasons, deputising to Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane. Now with Yoro in the squad and de Ligt on the horizon, it’s clear that the England international has fallen further down the pecking order and so a sale is the favoured option for United.

Next we have Scott McTominay. After a great couple performances, scoring at Euro 2024 despite being knocked out in the group stages, the Scotland international is another play to be listed for sale.

It’s known already that Fulham, Tottenham and Galatasaray are all interested in the midfielder, with Fulham having already submitted an offer which was ultimately rejected for being too low.

Finally we have Casemiro. The midfield veteran has been long linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Nasr looking most likely to sign the Brazilian.

Whilst United are actively trying to sell the trio, it’s understood that Maguire and McTominay may ultimately stay at old Trafford, with the Red Devils struglling to find suitors willing to match their valuations.
