Manchester United 1-1 Leicester City: Foxes made to wait for the title as Drinkwater sees red

Claudio Ranieri’s men failed to win the Premier League on Sunday as they could only play out a stalemate at Old Trafford, Wes Morgan cancelling out Anthony Martial’s strike.

Leicester City will have to wait to be crowned Premier League champions after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Foxes headed into the game aware that a victory would see them win the title, but they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils, as Anthony Martial’s early strike was cancelled out by Wes Morgan’s powerful header.

Claudio Ranieri’s men looked assured throughout but were forced to endure a nervy final five minutes after Danny Drinkwater was sent off for hauling down Memphis Depay on the very edge of the penalty area.

Leicester will now hope that second-placed Tottenham fail to defeat Chelsea on Monday evening; a result that would crown the Foxes without them kicking a ball.
