Manchester City have approached former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba about a potential move when he returns to football in March.
However, the 31-year-old is reportedly hesitant to return to Manchester due to his past experience with United.
Miguel Delaney, journalist for The Independent, confirmed City’s interest in the midfielder amidst the clubs’ obvious need for an addition to the midfield department.
Pogba recently had his four-year ban for elevated testosterone levels reduced to 18 months, making him eligible to play again in March.
Following his departure from Juventus in November, he is currently a free agent.
City are exploring options amid a challenging season for Pep Guardiola, with injuries and recruitment issues leaving the squad stretched.
Rodri’s cruciate ligament injury has highlighted the need for midfield reinforcements, and Pogba is seen as a potential solution.
Guardiola, a known admirer of Pogba, previously expressed interest in the player during his time at United.

City’s recruitment over the years has led to a specific profile approach, favouring technically gifted players.
It therefore comes as very little surprise that Pep and the hierarchy at City are interested in the World-Cup winner.
Despite showing levels of inconsistency at United, it would be hard to see the 31-year-old struggle to fit into a squad of relative technical quality.
Whether Pogba still possesses the hunger and desire to compete in the Premier League, remains the huge question.
It will certainly raise eyebrows however, if the former Juventus midfielder goes on to join City and thrive similarly to Jadon Sancho at Chelsea currently.
Pogba does want to play at the highest level again, with current preferences of Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga.
A transfer possibility that a part of United fans will very much be hoping doesn’t come to fruition.
