Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino is currently on loan with Blackpool, and he picked up an injury rolling his ankle during a game away to QPR on Tuesday.
Though Michael Appleton had initially warned that the injury didn’t look great, he’s since given a more positive update on the situation.
“There’s slightly better news on Charlie than I first feared if I’m being honest, but it’s still going to be potentially four weeks,” Appleton said.
“Depending on how he recovers and how it settles down in the next few days, it might be a few days earlier and it might be three or three-and-a-half weeks.
“But as we understand it at the minute it’s going to be four weeks.”
Patino stayed down in London after the QPR game before heading to London Colney during the day on Wednesday.
The midfielder then travelled to Meadow Park to watch the Arsenal u21s play Swansea City, before driving back to Blackpool that night.
Patino had impressed in his early cameos before the injury, making a couple of positive Championship substitute appearances and winning the Man of the Match award on his first League Cup start.
Things appeared to be going well on his first Championship start as well, until the injury. He’ll now hope to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
