Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is of the opinion that his national teammate Joao Neves is ready for that big move were the club to approach the youngster.

Speaking to Portuguese broadcaster Sport TV, the United skipper lauded the 19-year-old, terming him as ‘ready’ for a move to one of the big interested clubs.

“He is an excellent player, he’s with the national team… that’s also why the big clubs are after him.” Bruno stated.

It is not the first time the Magnifico has openly stated he would love to be on the same team as young Neves.

“It has to be the Man United coach who says whether he has a place or not,” he said back in November. “He’s a great player, I don’t know if he would have a place or not. It depends on the coach and his ideas.

“But he’s an excellent player and an excellent kid, very professional, he will have a bright future wherever he goes. I would love to have him by my side. Because he has quality and will have a bright future. Bruno commented last November.

The Red Devils have been interested in the Benfica man for a while now and Benfica had to release a refusal statement just two months ago.

“Sport Lisboa e Benfica denies the existence of any right of first refusal over its player João Neves,” they said. “Under no circumstances has Sport Lisboa e Benfica entered into talks with Manchester United or any other club about this player from its youth academy – nor does it intend to do so – so any information to the contrary is false.” was Benfica’s statement in full.

The young lad is hot property around Europe and has even been likened to PSG legend and midfield wizard Marco Veratti.

Neves has a €120 million release clause and whatever club wants him enough will have to break the bank and then some.
