November 15, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – NYPD is investigating the fatal stabbing of a 46-year-old man that occurred in Upper West Side apartment building on Friday morning.
Alfred Soto has been identified by police as the individual who was stabbed multiple times including in the stomach and chest inside the West 96th Street building he resided at.
Soto was pronounced dead by medical staff at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, cops said.
According to police, the stabbing occurred just after 10:00 a.m., on the sixth floor inside one of Soto’s neighbors apartment units.
We talked with a person who lives in the building that stated Mr. Soto may have been going to help a resident during a possible domestic dispute when the knifing took place.
No arrests at this time. Detectives are working to determine a motive for the deadly stabbing.
