October 23, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – A man staying at the ROW NYC Hotel was stabbed in the hip during a dispute with a group of men that turned physically violent outside the shelter for migrants near Times Square in Manhattan, authorities said.
According to police, just after 6 p.m., a 42-year-old migrant man was stabbed after a fight broke out between him and a group of other migrant males just across the street from the ROW NYC hotel, where the victim currently lives.
Officers from the Midtown South Precinct responded to the assault and EMS transported the injured man with non-life threatening injuries to Bellevue Hospital for further treatment following the knife attack.
Detectives are searching for all the suspects that fled following the knife attack with no arrests reported at this time.
Police say the injured man was not being cooperative with their investigation causing delays in locating the group of individuals allegedly involved in the stabbing of another migrant man outside a NYC hotel on Tuesday night, cops said.
The luxury hotel turned migrant shelter was converted in 2022 during the height of asylum seekers entering into New York City and now houses migrant families for up to two years.
