June 13, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – Three people were shot inside an apartment building in East Harlem just before 1:00 p.m., on Thursday afternoon, police said.
According to police officials, a 45-year-old man shot his ex-girlfriend, her son and then shot himself.
The teen was shot multiple times in the torso and arm upon answering a knock to his apartment door where the young man lived with his mother.
The young victim’s 40-year-old mother was also shot, she suffered injuries to the leg and head, officials said.
The seriously wounded mother and son pair were rushed to Harlem Hospital to undergo immediate surgery.
The suspected shooter was also taken to Harlem hospital with critical injuries, cops said.
Police are still investigating the shooting incident in which three people were injured and also say a gun was recovered at the scene.
The triple shooting incident was reported in East Harlem at 165 East 112th Street inside a ninth floor apartment unit at the James Weldon Johnson Houses, a NYCHA building.
