April 27, 2024 BROOKLYN, New York – FDNY responded to a fire early Saturday morning and found a boat stationed on a trailer ablaze in a fenced in area near Liberty Warehouse at Pier 44 in Brooklyn, cops said.
According to police officials, responding officers located the body of an unresponsive male on the charred boat, once all fire was extinguished. The unresponsive man was pronounced dead at the scene.
We spoke with the 911 caller who said the fire seemed unusual to them because the blaze burned with such intensity. This was possibly due to the fiber glass materials that make up the boat frame.
Fire marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire and medical examiner will determine official cause of death as the investigation continues.
Incident was reported around 5 a.m, at 253 Conover St. in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn.
