Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola has vowed that the team will bounce back from their poor form after the international break.
The defending champions have endured a poor run of form, losing four consecutive matches in all competitions, and also struggling with injuries to key players.
They suffered a 2-1 loss to Brighton on Saturday to fall further behind table-toppers Liverpool, with five points adrift of the Reds after 11 games.
Guardiola has promised that the team will recover their best form after the international break with a clash against Tottenham on November 23rd.
He said: “I was a football player and many times I lost a lot of games – four in a row, five in a row, six in a row.
“I never expect different, the fact we won in the past, that we are special. People can believe that but it’s not true.
“We are not consistent enough to maintain this level that helped us to win what we want for many years, Hopefully in the future we’ll come back, and if we don’t come back we’ll learn from that.
“Don’t be complacent when you win a lot, know how difficult it is, that makes us believe how difficult it was and how nice it will be when we win again.
“Right now, we are not in our best. It’s obvious. But still, it’s November, so hopefully, we’ll come back step by step. Every game will be tough for every team. We’ll recover our best and then we’ll see.”
Manchester City have won the Premier League title six times in the last seven years.
The club have a tough run of fixtures after the international break with matches against Tottenham, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Aston Villa.
