MALARIA DAY: We're lucky to have Drs Linda Ayade, Inyang Asibong, Betta Edu —Thomas Abi Jr

26 April 2018
I join the rest of the world in celebrating this year's day against malaria. Malaria is a major challenge we have in Nigeria and Cross River State.
Today it is believed that malaria is more of a rural disease due to the lack of information, knowledge and ways of preventing this menace.
We in Cross River State are indeed lucky for having a proactive First Lady, who works very hard alongside the Health Commissioner, Dr. Inyang Asibong, and the dogged Dr. Betta Edu.
Malaria is deadly, it kills mostly pregnant women, yesterday, the wife of our dear governor led a team to the hinterlands to celebrate the world malaria day. This is highly commendable. These three great women are fighting so hard in reducing the scourge called malaria.
Fighting malaria is a continuous process, it is one that the wife of our dear Governor has continually kept the faith.  She is doing so much in the issue of fighting malaria.
I thank and commend all her efforts.  As a medical practitioner she works round the clock in seeing that those who need help get it the most.
Ma, I say thank you for helping improve healthcare in Cross River State. You have remained a mother to all and a handout to how a wife of a governor should be and operate.
Your rare humility is incomparable, your smiles give hope  to the hopeless and joy to the depressed in our State and all who come in contact with you.
Thank you  for intervening in the fight against malaria in Cross River State. Your achievements are laudable. I listened to fact file this morning on radio and the Health Commissioner railed out the achievements in the health sector which she thanked you for all the support. Let me, once again join her in  thanking you for all the hard work , efforts and commitment in enhancing the living condition of our people.
Happy Malaria Day!
God bless you Ma, Dr. Linda Ayade
Prince Thomas Abi Jr.
